As a North Todd resident myself, I feel honored and blessed to serve the families of North Todd Elementary School as the new Principal. While this is not my first experience as a principal, every school is different and has specific challenges. The PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) Committee has already met to look into perceptions about our school culture and how these perceptions impact student achievement. We are exploring different ways to improve these perceptions. The most immediate change we have made is the addition of a daily Wildcat Meeting for students and staff. This morning event will introduce current events, recognize birthdays, celebrate student academic and personal successes, and promote regular attendance for all. We want to encourage personal excellence in our students and staff and want that excellence to be recognized every day.
North Todd will also be looking for additional opportunities for after school activities for students. We will continue to support our academic team and STLP programs and will add competitive archery to the list of available extra-curricular activities. While we are excited about additional programming for students, we will also need help with each of these programs. Having worked and lived in Todd County for the past 15 years, I have developed relationships with outstanding citizens. I want to see North Todd grow into a school that is known for its community volunteerism. We have a wide variety of opportunities to help our school become a better place to learn and work. Please contact me if If you have a skill or passion you would like to share with students. I feel certain we can put your talent to work, and am more certain that you will be blessed for your efforts.
